Recreate the visible part of a Minesweeper board with the grid editor. The solver checks your clues and total mine count, highlights proven safe squares and mines, and calculates exact probabilities when the remaining position can be fully analyzed.
Choose a tile, then click or drag across cells. Right-click any cell to toggle a mine flag.

How to use the solver
Solve a board in three steps
Choose a preset or enter the board dimensions and total number of mines.
Select a tile from the palette, then click squares to enter the visible numbers and any confirmed flags.
Find the next move or show all deductions. Make that move in your game, update the grid, and analyze again.
What the results mean
Green highlights mark squares that the entered clues prove safe. Red highlights mark squares that must contain a mine. If no safe move is forced, yellow marks the square with the lowest calculated mine chance. The optional percentages show each covered square’s mine probability.
This tool analyzes only the board you enter. It does not read another game window, change your live game, or send board data to the leaderboard. Check every clue and flag: an input mistake can make a valid game look contradictory.
How exact mine probabilities work
The solver counts the mine layouts that satisfy the visible numbers, confirmed flags, and total mine count. Percentages are exact for that model when every valid layout is treated as equally likely. Game-specific generator rules, such as guaranteeing a safe opening, are not modeled.
A percentage still cannot promise the outcome of one click. Take any green safe move first. If the board has no forced safe move, compare the yellow lowest-risk choice with the other displayed chances. Very complex boards may exceed the calculation limit; in that case, proven logical deductions remain visible and the tool says that exact odds are unavailable.
QUICK ANSWERS
Minesweeper solver questions
Can the solver read a screenshot of my board?+
No. Recreate the visible board with the tile palette by entering numbers and confirmed flags. The solver analyzes the grid in your browser; it does not upload a screenshot or send the board to the leaderboard.
Why does the total mine count matter?+
The solver uses the total mines left after your confirmed flags to check deductions and calculate odds. Enter the number of mines for the whole board, including the ones you have already flagged.
Are the mine percentages exact?+
They are exact for the clues, flags, and total mine count you entered, assuming every remaining layout that fits those facts is equally likely. The solver does not model game-specific generator rules, so its odds may differ if the game restricts how boards are created.
What if there is no guaranteed safe move?+
The yellow square shows the lowest calculated mine probability. Compare the percentages on other covered squares, but remember that even the lowest-risk choice can still be a mine.
Which board sizes are supported?+
Choose Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, or a Google Minesweeper preset. Custom boards can be up to 50 columns by 50 rows, with a total mine count that fits the grid.
Can I use the solver on a phone?+
Yes. Tap a tile in the palette, then tap or drag across the board to enter clues. The board can scroll when it is wider than the screen.
