How Minesweeper times are ranked
Separate boards keep comparisons fair
Beginner has 81 squares and 10 mines. Intermediate has 256 squares and 40 mines. Expert has 480 squares and 99 mines. Results are never compared across different difficulties.
Classic records are grouped by Today, This week, This month, and All time. Daily Challenge records use one shared board for each UTC date and appear on their own board.
Fastest time wins
The timer begins with the first move and stops when all safe squares are open. A lower time ranks higher. If two times match, fewer reveal moves wins the tie; flags do not add to the move count.
Only a successful board clear can be submitted. You may use flags or solve without them, and no account is needed. A pseudonymous player key keeps your best result for each period.
What appears in a leaderboard row
Each row shows a rank, nickname, country flag when a valid country code is available, clear time, and number of reveal moves. Country information comes from the request’s country code; the game does not store a precise location.
Classic periods use UTC-based dates so players in different time zones see the same boundaries. Daily Challenge has a separate list for the shared board and date. Only a better result replaces the same player’s existing time for that difficulty and period.
